#Cafe Yard, the best spot in Gyeongju to enjoy cherry blossoms
Located within Bomun Tourist Complex, Cafe Yard is close to Gyeongju World and is the ideal place to appreciate cherry blossoms.
Beautiful cherry blossom trees seen through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows signal the arrival of spring.
In particular, the second-floor terrace offers a fantastic view.
It is one of the hottest cafes in the city, particularly in the cherry blossom season.

Daereungwon Ancient Tombs in Hwangnam-dong, Gyeongju, consist of 23 large and small ancient tombs.
In front of the entrance to the Royal Tomb of King Michu stands the tallest cherry blossom tree I’ve seen.

Don’t miss the opportunity to visit Hwang Ryong Won in Gyeongju while cherry blossoms are in bloom, particularly at night.
Gyeongju is always beautiful and has a relaxing atmosphere. In particular, Hwang Ryong Won looks stunning when surrounded by cherry blossoms.

#The Stone Wall Path surrounding Daereungwon Ancient Tombs, the most fantastic cherry blossom road in Korea
Walk past Hwangnidan-gil Street and the main entrance to Daereungwon Ancient Tombs, and you will discover a stone wall path.
Also called Gyerim-ro, this stone wall path grabs the attention, particularly in the early morning.
Dozens of cherry blossom trees shining under the sunlight will make people stop and stare.
The stone wall path is number one on my list of must-visits in Gyeongju.

“A pond surrounded by gigantic weeping cherry trees”
A road diverging from the road close to Hwang Ryong Won leads to a pond with large weeping cherry trees.
Several cherry blossom trees grow in Gyeongju, but the gigantic cherry blossom trees that stretch like willow trees look quite different from the ordinary ones on the street.

A popular photo spot where I wanted to take photos
I’ve seen the buildings almost too many times and already know the popular composition of photos taken there, but taking photos of something beautiful is never boring.
A planned complex developed around Expo Park, Bomun Tourist Complex has various things to see, such as Jungdo Tower, Gyeongju Tower, Gyeongju Land, and Bomunjeong Pavilion.
Bomun Tourist Complex is a popular tourist destination throughout the year as the roads are surrounded by beautiful cherry blossoms in spring, thick green trees in summer and orange colored fall foliage in autumn.

The street near the Tomb of General Kim Yu-sin looks superb when cherry blossoms are in bloom.
It is not a crowded area, but people who discover the area while passing by are amazed by its beauty.
In addition, the cherry blossom petals flying in the wind when cars pass by creates a fantastic view!

#Woljeonggyo Bridge, which looks even more beautiful when cherry blossoms are in bloom
Gyeongju is known for its beautiful cherry blossom roads. Woljeonggyo Bridge offers beautiful sunrise and sunset views and is a great spot to enjoy beautiful cherry blossoms.
You are recommended to visit the bridge around sunset rather than during the day.

Situated in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Cheomseongdae Observatory is the ideal place to enjoy beautiful magnolias in spring.
Cheomseongdae Observatory was created during the reign of Queen Seondeok (632-647) of the Silla Dynasty. This National Treasure is the world’s oldest observatory that remains intact.
I personally think a cultural property and flowers are the perfect combination. Enjoying the spring in Gyeongju on a warm sunny day will be a great idea.

The rich Choi family, who settled in Gyo-dong, Gyeongju, in 1779, started under the new name “House of Choi” to inherit the local value of Gyeongju through various cultural channels.
Eyst 1779, a cafe recently opened by the family, is one of them. It was previously the only western-style house in Gyodong Hanok Village and was remodeled into a cafe. The contrast of red bricks and the black tiled roof looks quite impressive.
The cafe resembles a stylish gallery thanks to gracefully curved sculptures located across the cafe.
Plus, the beautiful garden seen through the windows is a work of art.
Menu items offered at Eyst 1779 include Americano, Latte, and signature drinks such as Cream Latte, Cacao, and peach-based drinks.
Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy early summer in Gyeongju with a drink while surrounded by the romantic views of Woljeonggyo Bridge in front of the cafe.

Library of the Silla Millennium, a former storage remodeled into a library
Located in Gyeongju National Museum, the Library of the Silla Millennium was inspired by the space aesthetics of Haeinsa Temple Janggyeong Panjeon, the Depositories for the Tripitaka Koreana Woodblocks. In addition, the library symbolizes the architectural reinterpretation of the Silla Dynasty’s history.
In particular, the traditional wooden structure, including the rafters, was applied with a modern twist to expand the boundaries of space, adding to the magnificence and beauty.
Thanks to the opening of the library, books and materials previously not accessable by the public are now available.
Art brochures related to exhibitions held at home and abroad and documents related to the studies on Gyeongju, Silla are also available here. Sofas are located throughout the building for visitors’ convenience.
The aesthetics of the space where the past and present coexist in harmony, the warm sunlight that brightens up the space, the tall ceiling that adds to the sense of openness, and the wooden interior materials that create a cozy ambiance make this library more impressive than any other library.

O Mignon Brunch Cafe in Gyeongju
O Mignon Bunch Cafe sits between youth hostels frequently used by tourists.
The cafe has a kiosk for accurate orders. Despite the tables being positioned closely, it didn’t feel uncomfortable, maybe because of the cafe’s uniquely designed split-level floor.
One of the signature menu items is pork pan palta (13,900 won), an open sandwich with pulled pork.
I fell in love with eggs benedict while visiting Thailand, so I ordered eggs benedict.
Eggs benedict is 12,900 won.
The taste was good, but the flavors of the bacon and tomato clashed. It felt unpleasant, so I ate it without the tomato.
I think cooked tomatoes might match the other ingredients better.

I said, “It’s so beautiful!” about one hundred times when I visited this café.
There are so many pretty things, and the owner is very kind. In particular, the cookies are yummy enough to wow you.
I regretted that I visited the café in the late afternoon. I guess the café will look even prettier under the bright sunlight.
I have to give Café Benedict a perfect score of 100 stars!

“Can cherry blossom trees be this big?”
There is a large unnamed cherry tree hill between Woljeonggyo Bridge and Wolseong Palace Site.
Most of the cherry trees in Gyeongju are quite big since they are old, but the cherry trees on this hill are so huge that you need to look up toward the sky to see them.
Cherry blossom petals fluttering in spring remind me of the melodies of the song “Flower Dance.”
